Sierra Endangered Cat Haven

A cat preservation park dedicated to promoting the education and conservation of different species of cats, with a focus on the jaguar.

 Hybrid and Mutant Cat Pages

Page with information on hybrid cats and mutant colors seen in big cats. The source of my mutant cat color pictures.

LIONS

 The Lion Research Center at the University of Minnesota

Nice site with lots more information on lion behavior, as well as reintroduction and conservation projects.

Asiatic Lion Information Centre

Information about the rare Asian subspecies of lion, Panthera leo persica. Includes information on a breeding program as well as lots of pictures of Asiatic lions.

The Kingdom of Lions

A rather interesting site in English and Dutch. Not big on graphics, but it has a lot of information. A pretty unique site too; all the information is written with the lion as the narrator.

King of Beasts

Site with information on lion resources such as books, videos, and writings. Also has a Man Eaters of Tsavo page.

Lion Guy

Artist who draws names  in the mane and tail of a lion. Includes post cards and a template to draw your own lion.

BARBARY LIONS

A site about two speical Barbary lions, wirtten form the lion's point of view.

National Geographic's Cyber Tiger

Interesting interactive site where you play a zookeeper taking care of a tiger.

Tiger Foundation

Canadian site for a foundation dedicated to preserving tigers. Also has images and links related to tigers.

Site for much more information on cheetahs than I have. It's a good site to visit if cheetahs are your favorite among the big cats.

NATURAL HISTORY

 Evolution WWW Virtual Library

Maintained at Harvard. Standard low graphics indice format but lots of links to good resources about all aspects of evolution.

 The Field Museum of Natural History homepage

For anyone who's visited before and not seen it in about a half a year, this site has greatly improved. A great natural history museum and a great site. For anyone who's never visited the museum, I'd recommend it if you get the chance!

 The American Museum of Natural History

The largest museum in the world, and a really good evolution exhibit with features that allow you to trace a lineage through it's divergences from related taxa. Unfortunately I've only been able to visit it on line...

 The Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History

Here you'll find out about the Rancho La Brea site I've mentioned so often! Never been able to visit the museum in person yet, but from their site I get a pretty good impression of the fossil exhibits they have there.

Bone Clones

Online sales of fossil replicas, as well as replicas of extant animal skeletons.

Audubon Zoo

Website with info about the famous zoo in New Orleans, home of another white tiger named Suri

Bronx Zoo

Site for the largest metropolitan zoo in America in New York.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Chicago's zoo, home of cheetahs and a jaguar along with other big cats.

Detroit Zoo

My hometown zoo. Many of the photos of lions and tigers are from the Detroit zoo (the white tiger and snow leopard are from a zoo outside Lansing Michigan).

Billed as 'the world's largest bookstore'. Not real specific to big cats or natural history, but if you're looking for resources this is a good place to find them at pretty reasonable prices.

Has a online information and schedules. Usually they have some articles on natural history or cats in the wild.
